“Habang maiksi ang kumot matutuong mamaluktot”
Magpupunta ako sa tapsihan o karinderya. Seryoso! There’s this place near us that sells lechon kawali for 50pesos with rice. So filling! And Bagnet 8065 which would only costs you 115pesos + extra rice 35pesos
But if you’re not living anywhere near San Antonio Village you could always try Adobo Connection or Chicboy. 200 pesos could still buy you a lot.
WHAT’S YOUR BEEF? AT BURGER BAR, GREENBELT
We all have experienced eating Monstrous burgers that we can’t have a bite of everything due to sheer amount of toppings, bun, patty in ratio to your mouth. Burgers where our money just goes to the grease and oil coz’ most of it are just smothered with it. Where toppings and sauce would fall of as you attempt to take a bite.
Amid of the “Bigger is Better” campaign of almost all burger joints had created, there is a new favorite in town which had clearly sticks to the classics. Regular bun and just the right thickness of the patties. A burger that would fit in your mouth so you could grab it with your hands and take a bite. Set alongside posh and quirky restaurants of Greenbelt lies a burger joint that has a retro-pop themed interior, BurgerBar is ready to serve hungry teenagers like us and had never failed to do so since they opened.
Some Recommendations when you go there, because they have a lot of burgers in their menu and trust me, you will get daunted!
The Piggy (P245-P345) is a generous patty of Beef Bomb Blend with mozzarella, fried bacon strips, house-made bacon jam, lollo rossa greens, garlic aioli on a fluffy sesame bun.
The Double Cheeseburger (P285) features the house-blend beef patty over freshly cut lollo rossa greens, American cheddar, sliced tomatoes, onions, and sauce no. 3 tucked inside a sesame bun.
4-cheese Chuck (P245-P355). The Beef Bomb patty is cheese encrusted. Furthermore, it has cheddar, gruyere, mozzarella, arugula, and garlic aioli.
The Bleu(235-345) Onion griddled double patty steak cut blend of sirloin and chuck, blue cheese sauce, fried crispy leeks, blue cheese crumble, caramelized onions, lollo rossa greens ali on a brioche bun
The Hangover Burger (P285-P370) beds onion griddled Big Game Blend with yellow cheddar, crisp prosciutto, fried egg, arugula, caramelized onions, BBQ sauce, and house aioli inside a sesame bun.
AND OH! THEY HAVE AWESOME AWESOME SALAD SELECTION AND MILKSHAKES!
Yes I do and I’m happy that he feels the same “thing” about me.
Cafe Havana
Cafe Havana in Manila is a hugely popular cafe and bar located within the upmarket Greenbelt retail and lifestyle complex in the centre of the financial and hotel district of Makati. It’s origins date back to 1998 when the first Cafe Havana was opened in the Malate area of Manila. Since opening the new branch at Greenbelt in Makati, Cafe Havana has enjoyed a remarkable following with both local Manila residents and overseas visitors. The founder of Cafe Havana, Larry J. Cruz, conceived it as a celebration of the traditional Cuban lifestyle, centred around great food and the pulsating rhythms of Latino music. The deft combination of authentic Cuban cuisine, attractively priced, together with the exuberance of salsa music has hit the right notes with customers for years now, and Cafe Havana is invariably packed every night of the week.
Cafe Havana by day is a casual, relaxed cafe, offering patrons the choice of either indoor air-conditioned comfort, or seating outdoors on the terrace under large parasols, overlooking the lush tropical gardens of the aptly named Greenbelt complex. On weekdays, Cafe Havana serves an enticing Lunch Buffet from 11:00 in the morning, and food is available all day from the a la carte menu. The buffet offers a large selection of hot and cold dishes, soup, desserts and fruits at the attractive price of Php500++ per person making Cafe Havana a popular lunch choice with local office workers, shoppers and tourists.
The Lunch Buffet
The bar at Cafe Havana specialises in the cocktails synonymous with Cuba and the Caribbean- mojitos, daiquiris, caiparinas- and these are always refreshing libations- day or night. The bar is also serving a full selection of premium rums and other spirits, wines, champagne and local or imported beers.
The food is prepared based on the authentic traditions of Cuban cooking- sauteed or slow cooked over flames, with the essential spices of the region- garlic, cumin, oregano and bay leaves. The menu includes a number of tapas style dishes for light meals or sharing, soups and salads, pastas and paellas, and main dishes with highlights including Cuban Stew “Encendido” ; Spare Ribs Habanera; and Caribbean style Salmon with Mango Mumbo Salsa.
In the evenings, Cafe Havana transforms into one of the hottest bars in Manila- with a nightly roster of local bands playing salsa and Latino music- and both the interior room and outside tables overflowing with customers until the early hours of the morning.

One Hundred Fifteen Years of Independence.
Lately, The Philippines had shown utmost resilience in exercising proper democracy and had shown the world that even if our country is smaller than our neighboring countries that is trying to oppress us, we re not less braver.
Our sovereignty, our independence, our freedom, these will not be gifts from superpowers, they will be fruits from our blood, sweat and tears. If we are not willing to give all, we will not be able to keep all.
